Jojoba Oil is not really an oil, but a liquid wax from the jojoba plant. Its structure is very similar to human sebum, which is why it is so well tolerated in topical applications. It makes a very good base oil for cuticle oil, and can be enhanced with essential oils.
For example, Carrot Seed EO will be helpful for damaged cuticles, Tea Tree for its antisceptic and antifungal properties, and Benzoin to help strengthen nails. In fact, Victorian ladies would often paint their nails with a mix of alcohol and benzoin to give them a little lustre.
